Leah! Leah! Are you reading this? I'm procrastinating and looking at the exam schedule. I feel bad for Lisa because her STATs exam is on the very last day and the last time slot! Also, our last exam is Groups which sucks because I'm really not going to feel like studying by that time. But my exams are fairly spaced out so I'm kind of glad. I have like Wednesday, then Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. I am probably the last person to move out again. Stupid groups! I wish it were first so I could get it over with...ok, I'll go work now.

It is 1:13am and I am still awake. Why? Not because I can't sleep, not because I am working, but because I am waiting for a damn cake to finish baking!

Backstory? The TSA (my club) is doing a bake sale tomorrow to raise funds for the Make A Wish Foundation (donations only) and since we all live together, that means we've spent all of today baking. And since I don't know how to bake, I decided I would be the world's best assistant and now I've been baking for the past 5 hrs...straight. Oh yes...but my, my, my are the results glorious. If possible, will post picture of the spread.

What's on the menu?

Chocolate chip cookies
Rice Krispie Squares
Oatmeal Scotchies
Snickerdoodles
Chocolate tarts
Fruit tarts
Jello tarts
Chocolate cupcakes
White cupcakes
White chocolate chip cupcakes (and cake squares because we ran out of paper)
Banana Chocolate cake

My friend Adam also attempted to make banana bread but for some weird reason, it wouldn't bake! Tomorrow my friend Leah might be making peanut butter cookies too.

Everything looks delicious and I'm actually finding a passion in baking. I think I will attempt some stuff in Waterloo now that I have an awesome dessert cookbook from Nestle. Yum yum! But very tired and I'm not allowed to eat any of it until tomorrow!

YAY! MY COLLECTION IS COMPLETE! So I've been collecting DBZ Gashapon figures. These series is so cute and I wish they had more characters. I hope they do have a new series with like Cell, Bulma, Gohan, Chi Chi, Krillen, the Androids...it would be awesome. I mean honestly, why Sensu? Be anyways, I tried my luck today and actually got Piccolo, the only one I was missing! Hooray!

So here they are: Sensu, Piccolo, SSJ Goku, Vegeta, Trunks, Goku, Freeza, Shenron, and Buu!

Here's a better picture of the collection: http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/7583/4543112489135000xl9hf9.jpg

OMG! Cutest book ever! I really want to get it although I don't know where to.

It's called "And Tango Makes Three". This tale based on a true story about a charming penguin family living in New York City's Central Park Zoo will capture the hearts of penguin lovers everywhere. Roy and Silo, two male penguins, are "a little bit different." They have been in a committed, monogamous relationship for nearly six years. They cuddle and share a nest like the other penguin couples, and when all the others start hatching eggs, they want to be parents, too. Determined and hopeful, they bring an egg-shaped rock back to their nest and proceed to start caring for it. They have little luck, until a watchful zookeeper decides they deserve a chance at having their own family and gives them an egg in need of nurturing. The dedicated and enthusiastic fathers do a great job of hatching their funny and adorable daughter, Tango, and the three can still be seen at the zoo today. Done in soft watercolors, the illustrations set the tone for this uplifting story, and readers will find it hard to resist the penguins' comical expressions.

There's also a book called King and King which is like a fairytale about a prince who is supposed to find a princess to marry and his mother brings in princess after princess but he says he is not interested. Then one princess brings her brother along too and they fall in love. Then there's a sequel called "King and King and Family" that follows the two on their honeymoon and stuff. (I'm sure there's nothing racy since it's a kid's book). The sequel's supposed to suck though but it's definately interesting to see this.

Haha...then my friend Leah told me about "Guss and Waldo's Book of Love". Another gay penguin book. But this one has penguins in bondage wear... http://farm1.static.flickr.com/127/342221663_9b7a194407.jpg

Anyways, enough of that...Alex I hope you don't have weird dreams about penguins now...

Edit: I can actually get all these books from amazon.ca which I probably will when I return from Hong Kong. If I order them now, I'm not really sure when I'll receive the order and I might be gone when they come. Yay! Excited for gay children's literature!

Ok maybe not but there are 5 more school days before March Break. Yay! So leaving for Hong Kong in 9 days but these next 9 days are going to be crazy. I have so much stuff to finish! I need to pack, teach, prep, and finish a 6-10 page paper for one of my classes at Queens which I have yet to start by the way. Looks like a busy weekend...

Oh man...I'm so disoriented! Now that I am doing my teaching placement at Thornhill Secondary, I wake up at 6:30am and leave home around 7:15am to take the bus and walk to the school. Yesterday evening was grade 8 night so I had to stay until 9pm entertaining grade 8 students and their parents as they decide whether computer studies is good or not. One parent really pissed me off though.

The woman came in (without her child) and asked me about computer studies. She said she really wanted her daughter to take the grade 9 computer course. I told her that she was referring to the grade 9 business course where they learn typing and word processing, etc. Computer studies courses start at grade 10 and I told her about those programs. She goes, "Oh that's the hard stuff...that's not for girls." I stared at her a bit and she continued, "Oh but you can do it. You're smart! I took some of this stuff in university...COBALT, you know?" Well frankly, I don't know because COBALT is a really really REEALLY old language that we mention when we teach about the HISTORY of computer languages. I had nothing to say and she left after so whatever. But OMG! The implications are horrendous!

Anyways, I finally got home around 10:15-ish, took a shower, went to bed, and then got up again this morning at 6:30 only to return to this godforsaken school. It's brutal...I definately don't want to do that again any time soon. I woke up thinking I was at school.

Thank goodness it's a long weekend. Hooray for Family Day as an excuse for no work!

Whoo! Done 3rd year at Waterloo! (Of course, that's assuming I have passing grades) but at this point in time, I don't care!

9 days until FanExpo!

17 days until Kingston!

Phew...I'm just glad to finally be done with exams...it's been a long three weeks.

Gotta clean and pack now. Leaving tomorrow morning for Markham.

Nikki, Alex, could you please let me know if you've made plans about FanExpo yet? (I.e. Are you coming back to Markham and driving from there and what time? Stuff like that...)

*bounces like Tigger* DONE DONE DONE!

One more assignment away...why do all the profs have to think alike and have everything due on the same day which just so happens to be the last day of lectures.

Anyways, I think you should all party with me to celebrate the end of lectures and I'm thinking Saturday. Saturday noon grocery shuttle takes me to the Zehrs near your house and I just have to run an errand there but I can pick up the makings of delicious maraschino cherry sodas or Shirley Temples and we can be on sugar highs all day while we do whatever! (I apologize for seeming to invite myself over to your house but trust me, it's a landfill here. Apparently washing their dishes don't occur to people here...oh boy...)

Nikki, if you're free do you think we could go check out fabric for Kasumi? I need to remember to show you the phoenix tote and also, I brought your Ranma poster from home so I need to get that to you.

Well, one question remains...which drink? For those unaware:

Marachino Cherry Soda:
2 tablespoons chopped Maraschino cherries
1 tablespoon Maraschino juice
1 teaspoon milk or cream
1/2 cup ginger ale
1 large scoop vanilla or New York ice cream

Shirley Temple:
oranges slice
ice cubes
6 to 8 oz. 7-Ups
highball glasses
1 oz. grenadines
maraschino cherries

What say you, Friendslist?
